Hey World, Have You Met Bert Berns?

If you didn’t know who Bert Berns was last week, there’s a pretty good chance you do now!

Piece of My Heart: The Bert Berns Story— you know, “the best new musical of the summer” (The Jewish Forward)– had a really big week. The show opened on Monday, officially introducing the world to the man who wrote the hits “Twist and Shout,” “Hang On Sloopy,” “Tell Him,” “I Want Candy,” “Piece of My Heart,” “Cry Baby,” “Cry To Me,”…seriously, we could go on all day. After the show, the celebration went next-level with an amazing party complete with great music (duh), drinks, dancing alongside celebs like Megan Hilty, James Monroe Iglehart, Steven Van Zandt, and Paul Shaffer–just to name (drop) a few– and, of course, candy. Even the real Wazzel was there!

Oh, but the awesomeness didn’t stop there. Yesterday, the brilliant cast twisted and shouted their way over to 106.7 Lite FM’s Broadway in Bryant Park to show off their pipes! No doubt, folks were inspired to share Bert’s music and maybe even make their own, so TPG was there passing out guitar picks to keep the jams coming.

Missed out on these fab events? Well, if you feel like crying…. Go see the show! Visit PieceOfMyHeartMusical.com for tickets!
