Hot Town, Summer Fridays in the City
When the summer sun shines down on 3pm, sitting inside at a desk just doesn’t feel right. So we do what any sensible advertising and marketing agency in New York City would do: we invoke our right to Summer Fridays!
We hope you’re able to embrace that #FridayFeeling early these next few months. Here are a few of our favorite ways to spend a Summer Friday:
1. Get Thee To A Rooftop Bar!

If you think there’s a better way to start the weekend than sipping a refreshing cocktail hundreds of feet above the city, you’re wrong. Check out Time Out New York’s top NYC rooftop bars. (Shout-out to our very own WeWork rooftop spot!)
2. Play a classic video game at the Museum of the Moving Image, then grab a drink at Studio Square Beer Garden.

In its new exhibition, the Astoria museum (free from 4pm to 8pm on Fridays) is digging up its collection of classic video games from 1972 to 1993 for you to play. When you’ve had your fill of Donkey Kong, head across the street for a drink! #YaaasssQueens
3. Pick a park, any park, then have a picnic!

This island isn’t all concrete jungle. There are quite a few NYC parks ready and willing to remind you that nature cures all. So snag a spot in Central Park, Bryant Park, Prospect Park, Astoria Park, Brooklyn Bridge Park–you get the idea–and treat yourself to a summer picnic!
4. Stop and literally smell the roses at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

It’s roses’ turn at BBG! Take a walk through the Cranford Rose Garden this June, and you may find New York City looking a bit rosier.
5. Cool off in the theatre.

Whether we’re talking about the 6-time Tony Award® nominated play Eclipsed, the “scorchingly funny” (The New York Times) Turn Me Loose, or the 13-years-running hilarious musical Avenue Q, summer theatre has it all: incredible storytelling, brilliant performances, and air conditioning.
6. Indulge in a Midsummer Night Swing.

Put on your dancing shoes and jump, jive, and wail your way into the weekend at Lincoln Center. This summer promises lessons in 1930s Swing and Gypsy Jazz! Check out this year’s schedule.
7. Get out of town.

Sometimes the best way to spend a summer weekend in New York, is to get out of it. So whether you hop on the LIRR or grab an uber to JFK, there are plenty of ways to skip town for a few sunny days.
Happy Summer!
