With a nice long weekend to get your ‘murica on, people all over the nation will be celebrating freedom from sea to shining sea. If you’re lucky enough to be spending the holiday weekend in New York City, here are 7 fun things to do that will have you living your best American life:

1. Watch the fireworks!

Macy’s knows how to take a holiday to the next level in New York. The Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks will work their magic for 30 minutes over the East River beginning at 9:20pm (on Monday, July 4). The Jersey City and Statue of Liberty Fireworks will chime in 10 minutes later at 9:30pm. Here is the best place to see them.

2. Take a stroll through the 1770s!

Get the full deets on life during the revolution by taking one of NYC’s historic Patriot Tours. Lower Manhattan will never be the same after you’ve walked in the footsteps of Alexander Hamilton and George Washington. Find a tour here.

3. Hang out on the boardwalk at Coney Island!
