Arts & Analytics Invites Theatre and Data to the Same Party

When it comes to theatre, word of mouth is gold. But getting the right words in the right mouths – that kind of gold takes a little digging. In other words, you’ve gotta figure out who your audience is, where to find them, and what makes them tick (buying tickets). We’re talking demographics and psychographics. Basically, you need data.

That’s where Arts & Analytics comes in. This awesome company is bridging the gap between theatre and data with predictive analytics software that helps performing arts organizations strategically build their audience. And TPG is right there with them.

Our own founder and CEO, Amanda Pekoe, is on the advisory board and is keeping pretty good company there: Mitch Lowe, co-founder of Netflix and Redbox, joined earlier this month. Together with the rest of the advisory board, they’re doing a little matchmaking to help theatre and data get to know each other better.

After all, the world is going digital. Analytics and data can be found in everything we like, see, and consume. So we’re bringing theatre along to this data party as we pioneer our way through a new era that introduces the arts to the digital landscape.
