A Winning Night At The Tony Awards

Radio City Music Hall filled up with Broadway’s best this past Sunday to honor an exciting season of theatre that gave us everything from curious incidents to adventures on the town.

Just as Amanda predicted in her examiner.com interview, The King and I took home the award for Best Revival of a Musical and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time walked away as the year’s Best Play; Fun Home and Skylight claimed the remaining top awards for Best Musical and Best Revival of a Play.

For the acting awards, Helen Mirren got a “T” closer to an EGOT; Michael Cerveris and Christian Borle picked up Tony number 2; the sixth time was the charm for Broadway vet Kelli O’Hara; and Alex Sharp, Annaleigh Ashford, Ruthie Anne Miles, and Richard McCabe all took home shiny statues of their own. Speaking of winners, a few of us Pekoes showed up looking fab and ready to get our Tonys on: and get our Tonys on we did! We even kept the celebration going on Monday when we tallied up our award ballots to see that video editor Ryan took the pool with 21 correct guesses out of 24!

It was an unforgettable evening that reminded us just how amazing it is to get to work in the theatre! See you next year, Tonys!
