OVERVIEW

Client Name: Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)
Campaign: Influencer Event & Box Office Opening
Date/Timing: October 6, 2025

THE SUMMARY
As Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) was approaching its Broadway launch, we wanted to create an event that would align the show with New York City in a meaningful and impactful way. To do this, we planned a full day of activations that would engage influencers, fans, and tourism partners to bring Two Strangers to the forefront of the NYC conversation.

THE CHALLENGE
Two Strangers is a British show about New York City. The show resonated with audiences across the pond, and we needed to ensure that New York audiences would connect with it in the same way.

THE INSIGHT
The show tells a universal story that revolves around the idea that a stranger can change your life if you let them. So finding a way to introduce our cast and creative team to New Yorkers felt like a perfect way to set us up for success.

THE IDEA
We wanted to create the biggest impact possible, so we took what would traditionally be two events and turned them into one full-day adventure!

THE EXECUTION
We partnered with SUMMIT One Vanderbilt to host our influencer mix & mingle, where our guests captured content with the cast and creative team. Our partner Big Bus Tours provided the double decker bus that transported everyone to our box office opening event, where fans lined up, enjoyed Magnolia cupcakes, purchased tickets for a special promotional rate, and spun a prize wheel to receive one of 13 iconic NYC experiences, including:
• ARTECHOUSE
• Big Bus Tours
• Bronx Beer Hall
• Brooklyn Museum
• Circle Line Cruises
• Edge NYC
• The Intrepid Museum
• Museum of Broadway
• RiseNY
• Serendipity3
• SUMMIT One Vanderbilt
• Top of the Rock
• Vessel

THE RESULTS
The in-person excitement for the event was palpable at all stages. From the influencers filling up the top floor of SUMMIT while capturing content to the huge line down the block at the box office opening, it became clear that New York City was excited and ready to welcome Two Strangers to Broadway.

Beyond that, bringing in tourism partners got the biggest brands in New York City excited to work with Two Strangers not just now, but throughout our run!

The social impact of the day was huge, with over 25 influencers posting on their channels about Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York).

KEY TAKEAWAY
Inviting influencers to a show is not always enough — you need to create experiences that are so cool, they demand to be documented!

Sometimes, doing things the old-fashioned way and building authentic relationships in person is a stronger choice than anything that could be built digitally.
