6 Ways to Celebrate the Holidays in New York City

New York is the greatest city in the world no matter what the time of year. But we can all agree that it is especially magical during those last few holiday-infused weeks between Thanksgiving and the New Year.

So before that big crystal ball drops into 2016, get out there and enjoy the holiday happenings this city has to offer. Here are a few of our favorites:

1.    First thing’s first: The TREE!

Head over to Rockefeller Center to get a look at this year’s 78-foot, 10-ton beauty from Gardiner, New York, on display until 8pm on January 7.

2.    The holidays are back on the market.

Check out the Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park or The Union Square Holiday Market and pick up the perfect gift for everyone you know. Your reputation as the best gift giver ever depends on it.

3.    Skaters gonna skate.

Speaking of Rockefeller Center and the Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park, grab (or rent) some skates and take a spin on their seasonal ice skating rink.

4.    Do a little winter gardening.

If 60-degree weather still isn’t quite hot enough for you this December, check out some Tropical Kokedama, the holiday exhibit at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

5.    Toys for tickets.

Thanks to The Off-Broadway League, when you give a new toy worth $10+ to participating Off-Broadway shows now through December 22, you can get a free ticket to that evening’s performance! Toys will be donated to Safe Horizon. Learn more.

6.    Treat yo self.

Whether you take your chocolate hot with a huge marshmallow (try City Bakery) or frozen with whipped cream (try Serendipity 3), ‘tis the season to indulge.
