A Warm Week of Opening Nights!

The Mint Theater Company’s marvelous revival of N.C. Hunter’s A Picture of Autumn opened just two nights ago and proved to be a “ perceptive, sensitive production,” as The New York Times said. Funny and brilliantly acted, the performance pulls on your heartstrings with its lovable and endearing cast (cast includes Christian Coulson, known for his role as Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets)! The opening night party was hosted at West Bank Café, where guests were treated to wine, a delicious dinner, and a custom cake featuring the artwork for A Picture of Autumn!

Last night, The Silver Cord opened at Theatre at St. Clement’s. The Peccadillo Theater Company expertly pulls both comedy and intense drama from this classic. Dale Carman’s oh-so-polite (but oh, so evil!) Mrs. Phelps is not to be missed! You wouldn’t want to live under her roof. However, you would probably have liked being under the roof of Sardi’s Restaurant for the opening night party. It was truly a family affair with The Silver Cord playwright, Sidney Howard’s daughter, granddaughter, and great granddaughter all in attendance. Drinks flowed freely at the intimate soiree while the cast gathered for some fun ‘family’ photos of their own!
