One Week. One Brilliant Company. Two Shows!

Last week marked the opening of Potomac Theatre Project’s annual five-week repertory season! Now through August 4th, Atlantic Stage 2 will be the home of two incredible productions performed on an alternating schedule.

After last year’s sold-out run, Caryl Churchill’s Serious Moneyreturns with its over-the-top rhyming couplets making a satire out of London’s financial district.

Joining it is The Castle, an epic work by Theatre of Catastrophe creator, Howard Barker, about a violent battle between returning crusaders and the women left behind. This play features Jan Maxwell, a five-time Tony Award® nominee. (She and Angela Lansbury are the only two actresses ever to be nominated in all four acting categories!)Both of these shows have received rave reviews.

Here’s what the critics have been saying:

On Serious Money – “A wicked, polished production by the Potomac Theater Project. If there’s a sharper-edged evening of entertainment in Manhattan at the moment, it involves juggling knives…the over-the-top comedy remains raw and urgent.” –The New York Times (Critic’s Pick)

On The Castle – “The Castle is a scabrous masterwork.” – Time Out New York
Also, it was chosen as a NYTimes Critic’s Pick and given a rave review from Ben Brantley!

The two plays cement PTP/NYC’s reputation as a powerful force in the Off-Broadway community and you won’t want to miss them!
