Sample Sale Tips:
Be Prepared – Sample Sales can be overwhelming, and the rules are a little different. There is little to no customer service, the fitting room is usually communal, and bags and coats must be checked at the beginning. Make sure to bring cash, because some designers and warehouses don’t accept credit cards or checks. Also, people can get aggressive, but with these discounts, it’s understandable.
Arrive On a Mission – Know what you want before you get there. Browse the designer’s collections and pick out some key items to help save time and stamina.
Check Items Carefully – All sales are final, so if you discover a hole after you’ve already paid, the item (and hole) are yours.
Dress for Success – Sample Sale shopping requires lots of energy and time on your feet, so you’ll be happiest if you wear comfortable (and easily removable) shoes. If you’re wearing flats or flip-flops, make sure to bring a pair of socks with you, just in case you find those must-have suede booties you’ve been swooning over. Many sales have communal changing rooms, so wear undergarments that you won’t mind other people seeing.
